the landscape and climate |
||
| The climate is continental, with long hot summers and cold
winters. Snow is not uncommon, particularly in the mountains. However the
sun shines most days and humidity and rainfall are generally low throughout
the year.
Although the landscape bakes during July and August, the nights are pleasantly cool, eliminating any need of air-conditioning. |
Every season has its magic, from spring blossom, through summer drought and brilliant autumn colour to winter snow, all enhanced by the deep blue skies and vivid light of Andalucia. | |
|
Average temperatures in July are in the high 30's Celcius, though the dry air makes that much more tolerable than on the coast for example. In January the average maximum is usually in double figures (higher than the UK), though it falls below freezing at night. However, even on the chilliest days, it is usually possible to sit out in the sunshine at midday.
